On the west coast of the Fijian Island of Viti Levu lies the township of Lautoka and the RUM Co. of Fiji Distillery. A distillery producing rum as a craft, carried out by hand, and following time-honoured traditions since 1980. The Fijian Islands are renowned for their pure water, nourishing the sugarcane growing in rich volcanic soil at the base of The Sleeping Giant Mountain. The hand-cut sugarcane is distilled into rum, then filtered through coconut shell carbon to capture the pure taste of Fiji. The result is a range of deliciously smooth, internationally award-winning rums and liqueurs unlike anywhere else in the world. Rums that draw you into the unmistakable beauty and charisma of our tropical South Pacific Island.Our Ratu Dark Rum is aged for 5 years in charred oak barrels. It has a savoury, smoked oak aroma and an earthy, leathery character which gives way to the rich sweetness of molasses and the warmth of liquorice.
